Gulab Jamun is an Indian classic, traditional and very popular sweet. I made this with khoya (Milk solid), Sugar, Rose Water and Cardamom. It is very famous and mostly made or served at the time of happiness, celebrations or festivals.
So the question is, what is Gulab Jamun and How does it look?
Gulab Jamun’s are brown colour balls dipped in sugar syrup. It derives the name from 2 words “Gulab” Which means rose and “Jamun” means berry. So Gulab Jamun means berry dipped in rosewater sugar syrup.

Stir till the sugar dissolves and becomes sticky consistency. Now keep the sugar syrup aside.
Now, take the Milk and Milk powder dough and add 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour (Maida),1 tsp Baking soda and add little milk and mix well and make a soft dough. Divide the dough into 8-9 equal pieces and roll into balls without cracks. Now heat some oil in a pan and fry the balls till it turns brown. Now, soak the fried balls in sugar syrup for 2 hours. Post 2 hours the Gulab Jamun is ready to serve. Serve it as Dessert, or with the main course as a side dish.
